You must strategize over who gets to use it and how much. The crystal collectors buys and sell crystals at the crystal market. Dont forget to check his daily rate and get your 100 crystals from the game each day. Item market....I have noticed a bunch of people putting tons of over priced items on the market and cluttering it up.....I have tool to forceably reverse your listing now, but if i start to notice the same people who are constanly cluttering up the item market i will just simply remove your rights to buy OR sell there. −the Parrot

24.09.2008 BOREDEST.COM IS LIVE AGAIN I wish to thank everyone for their patience and hope you enjoy the new game settings, mods and features. PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY : I am not going into every little detail about everything that has been added or tweaked but the following are things you should be very conscious of. See the forums for additional info and to ask questions. All the regular ingame items have been gone through and redone, moved around, repriced, repowered, ect – Be very attentive to your purchases. Especially when selecting a GUN since they require ammunition and that ammo could be very pricey!! – as a general guideline the more expensive the item the more powerfull it is! Houseing – all main training has been moved back to function through your regular housing. Houses have also been redone and should be treated as if they are a brand new lineup. Currently the “McMansion” is set at the relative power and price as the previous most powerful house in existence…..all other houses in the new lineup have been calibrated from this benchmark. Everything from the mcmansion and up is a brand new level of house…I have just decided to retain a lot of the familiar names from before. Crimes – I have left the crime rewards at higher prices to make them worthy of doing again……however….I have cranked up the notch of difficulty for the higher cost crimes and mixed in more elements of chance, including many of the big crimes may only be completed once a day and once done you must move on and try something else. You will also find crimes to be much more dynamic in terms of success rates day to day. GANGS − This is by far the biggest and most complicated mod in the history of boredest….the coding for just this one mod is bigger than the base codes for the game itself. It might even be one the biggest/complicated Mods in text RPG gaming. Which is why I have decided to initially release just the basic initial modules of it and continue to turn on additional ones and the full extent of existing ones as people become familiar and comfortable with this mod. I cannot stress enough to be very cautious in creating gangs…..they can get very expensive and very brutal…very quickly!!!! Since the gang dynamic is the first one to give advantages based on quantity of members I would highly suggest combining forces with those gangs who you are friendly with and form into one big gang. This is especially important when the destructive components of gang assaults are turned on in the near future and the stuff you have spent lots of money on can be lost stolen or flat out destroyed!!!! You will need to defend your gang properties!!!! In your inventory you will find Items called "Crash Cart", it is under medical items. USE THIS to get out of the hospital and start play. :) Also , please take the time to send a thank you to Raholl our coder. He has worked many hours to make sure this update will be enjoyable for everyone. The_parrot.

Houses have been restructured − I set the mcmansion as the relative equal of the previous most powerful house available and adjusted up and down from there. It should be a while before people run out of expanded houseing. 12.09.2008 Attention Boredest Citizens – As many of you know it has been a while since we have made any major adjustments to the game. As the summer has come to a close, and the third year of play is firmly under way we will be making what I hope to be our Final major Game wide update/adjustment In order to set the future development of the game firmly on track. The Major noticeable Changes are as Follows: 1. Cut stats and will bars by 1−2 zero to get stat numbers more reasonable looking. Then go and revamp the progression of all the houses to have more consistency. 2. Liquidate every Item in everyone’s inventories to get a total net worth for everyone in the game.(excluded will be crystals, willpotions, DP stuff, and collectibles) 3. Cut everyone’s total net worth down proportionally to desired economic level ....I am thinking that the realistic richest person should be somewhere between 1T and 100B 4. Then totally restructure/reprice/rename/ ect everything in the game to match with new economic level. 5. Add the New Gang Mod and additional sub−mods. WHAT TO EXPECT: 1. As the update approaches I will move all pass thru items into the collectibles designation and set all items sell value to original purchase price….Any of these you wish can be sold for your $ back or held on to thru the update. (note: there are no guarantees that any collectible will retain any powers or benefits from before the update, some may become more or less valuable) All other items other than collectibles, crystals, wills, DP’s, ect will be liquidated automatically at their original purchase price with the economic rollback so do not sell these off prematurely. 2. Everyone’s relative progress/stats/wealth as compared to everyone else will be preserved thru the update. 3. I want a complete overhaul of everything so no adjustments will ever have to be made for a very long time.−and when I say complete overhaul, I mean complete overhaul. I will go through every Item, house, crime, job, everything....... providing a complete upgrade/restructuring to the whole game environment while maintaining everyone’s development at the same level/position that they have achieved through the entire history of the game. In essence providing the players a brand new game environment to explore, learn, and interact in. All while preserving the general theme/familiarity that is Boredest and hopefully return the excitement and challenge that was present at its very beginning. 4. When the actual code updating begins there will be a few days of down time to get it all in. I am working on a way so as to not lockout everyone from the game but to be able to follow along with the progress , stay informed and even interact with the community a little. Thank you for your patience in this process. I cannot even begin to tell you how thankful I am for the great community that has been established here. I have told many of the most supportive members to be patient over the last year with regards to the future of Boredest. If you have a bunch of stuff listed at rediculous prices to just keep them their I suggest you take the time to remove them. If you feel the need to ask whether or not a listing is realistic assume that it isnt and eliminate the chance of losing it. 2. In an effort to get the IRC going and utilized again I am suggesting that everyone at least Idle in the main chat room while they are playing the game. Every single game I have run or played in I have seen a direct correlation of success tied to time spent in open chat getting tips, handouts, info , forming beneficial relationships , ect. I advise those who are in Cartels other than Cartel Hell, to no longer attack any member from Cartel Hell as the Cartel should be dissolved. Those who continue to feed off of Cartel Hell may run the risk of having your Cartel stats readjusted, or worse yet, accused of taking advantage of a bug( yes a missed code is considered a bug). 26.02.2008 Respect−O_ Rama Update−Don’t go out like a lamb........bring this spring in like a lion!!!!! The date for this to begin is this weekend. The beginning of MARCH. Individual gangs and gang respect as it is will not matter during this event. As some have noticed that there is now a "Cartel" link available. You will see that there are two Cartels. A. The Brethren of the Coast B. Cartel Hell As a gang, you can join one of these existing Cartels, and war against the other Cartels..........or you can create your own and try to get other gangs to join our cartel ......and war both the cartels mentioned. Right now the only reason that these cartels are there and not everyone can get in or create one is that they are still being worked on, and MODified. We will keep you informed, with another update soon Prowler

21.02.2008 These are decisions that have been made for the Blast−O Rama thus far. Respect points will remain the same due to fairness of power. Parrot and I rolled it around in our heads and decided that it would not be fair if the strongest players in the game could just keep feeding of the slaughtered bodies below them. So the respect stays the same to keep things fair. One new weapon and armor will be activated during the contest......... Titanium Knuckles Titanium Body Vest These items will be stronger than The Crystal Musket, and the Full Body Crystal Armor. They will be CHEAP..........so anyone can buy them. They will be deactivated after the contest......and become collectibles These weapons and armors will also be activated for the game, and be slightly stronger than the previous mentioned two. Orb of Nothingness Orb Of Oblivion Vorlens Protection Aura Vorlens Staff of Magic Blast They will be expensive, but will be able to be sold back to the game for at least 75% of the purchase cost. They too will be returned to collectibles after the contest . All weapons and armor will be made available before the contest begins, in a Bored Central shop I am still working on some things that I hope to make happen. I would like to close down all but three cities for the time the contest is going. I would like to see that the only cities available for the contest time, for all players are Boredville, Bored Central, and The Sewers. Bone is working on the adjustments today, and I should have an answer from Parrot about the cities soon. It shouldn’t be much longer until we set a date for this to begin......

We have instead coded in a built in loss of respect schedule for when Users are no longer members of the gang for whatever Reason. So Gang leaders be extra careful when aquiring new gang members. Being unable to keep your members or mistakenly letting in an inferior member who must be kicked will both result in your gang being less respected.

We have significantly increased the number of stocks you can hold in your portfolio’s so all you wanna−be stock market traders get to trading. We have increased the crystals in the $20 DP so you no longer have to buy 2 separate $10 DPs to get the best deal. We have released the cap on the cyber bank but cut the interest so the economy doesn’t get too out of control and rekindles the art of saving . We have increased the ammount of money you can potentially mug someone for by means of a wider ranged variable (beware those that let your money just hang out) . 31.10.2007 Dear Boredest Community, As of now I am no longer the owner of Boredest, ownership has been transfered to the_Parrot. What does this mean? Well for one he will be able to fund for new addons and coding towards Boredest. I am remaining on the staff team as the Server Admin and technical support. (So if the server goes down you can blame it on me.) I will also be available to him for coding jobs if he so wishes. Boredest has been a great adventure for me since it began. What started out as a small experiment soon turned into a massive and popular online game (250+ online users.) I am hoping the_Parrot can help Boredest return to its previous glory and re−achieve the reputation it once had with some of the best staff members for an online text game. 15.06.2007 The Economy Changes are now also live. Economy Changes: All cash flow will be reduced by 2 decimal places, this includes item buying prices and house costs. This should keep you with the same cash amount but in a more reasonable, realistic cash flow range. Along with this will have all item sell prices be lowered to $1.

15.06.2007 The updates have arrived! − A New City − The Sewers: A place for anyone who is new to the game. You can relax and hide out here from the bigger players. However once you are level 50 you can never return to the Sewers. − Item limits: There is now a 10,000 limit on every item in the game. This means you can only have 10,000 of an item in your inventory. − Bank Cap: There is a Cyber Bank cap at $10 trillion so once you reach this limit you can’t deposit any more money until you withdraw some. − Gang Respect: You now earn gang respect similar to EXP! No more hitting one person and just gaining one respect point. We also will be releasing later on; Multi−Blocker: No more registrations from the same IPS! Every single multi etc will be denied registration. However if you do have family members you can submit your registration and an admin will be able to automatically approve it, then you will receive an email informing you the account was created. 26.05.2007 Just to let you all know, we have fixed the Federal Jail deletion bug. 2300 accounts marked for deletion and previously not deleted are now being deleted and removed from the federal jail. We are also planning to delete EVERY account who has not logged in for the past 3+ months, once this action is complete it should speed up the game and reduce lagg on the crons. We are then planning to modify the energy crediting etc to ignore users who have not logged in for a week.

25.05.2007 Hey all, Yes we are still alive. The reason I am posting an announcement is the reason to why not much has been going on around here lately. The main reason is the decrease in users and donations, im not trying to sound like a money grabber but please understand that when a dramatic drop in donations occured like it did I had to actually work overtime a lot more reducing my coding time. It also stopped me from hiring Raholl full time which I usually paid $1000 a month which is not a lot comparing to a western pay grade. I know this is also partly our fault too for not fixing bugs fast enough but we did advertise and introduce new features (Gang Houses) we also did plan to introduce many new big features but the drop in users and funds also had a big impact on that. 29.03.2007 Also events and mail were again wiped up, sorry for any lost events or mail but it seems it has really made the game lagg free, so we might be optimizing that later on also. Please let us know if attack now still laggs without the mail or events clogging up the database.

29.03.2007 I would like to announce that we have just started fixing up some optimization issues and so forth. Users can now be attacked in the Federal Prison. Users who have been put in the federal prison for 300 days or more will get their account automatically deleted after 30 days to save them wasting up server resources etc, the public can see their status and how many days until deletion in the Federal Prison. 12.03.2007 Just to let you all know we have a Battlefield 2142 server running on; 209.160.32.21:17567 This is just an experiment to see if we could get a Boredest 3d gaming community together too, if one exists? Also, the federal jail attack bug will be fixed, it was not planned and you will once again be able to attack users in fed soon. We are also now working on the optimization updates.

07.03.2007 I would like to announce another long awaited and overdue update, you can now equip items and armor via the items page, this stops people from spamming you with items so you can’t defend yourself and you can pick what weapon you wish to fight with. Also the newspaper is now working with all the new recruits, please make sure to check it out daily for updates ;) Thanks

25.02.2007 Just to let everyone know we are working on revamping the newspaper so users can manage various topics like gossip, news, hard facts etc... also included in the newspaper will be "Dear Admin" where randomly selected user questions will be answered by an admin in the newspaper. This will hopefully make the game more community based and will actually make the newspaper worth something, to ready maybe while in the hospital or something. Currently no ETA is available on this.

31.01.2007 We have released some updates for the start of February; − The regular bank now gives 0% interest and cyber bank gives 3% interest and 0% interest when you have more then 1 trillion in the cyber bank. −When you sell your house you now only get 94% of its retail value back then 100% as before. − Gang Houses have been released... it features the best gym in the game, upgrading rooms to allow users to train in it and yes will potions should work with gang houses. However you can’t simply invite everyone in your gang to use the Gym in your gang house... anyone who has access to your gang house will be able to access application and vault management, this adds true trust to your gang.

25.01.2007 Well, due to the exploiters and so forth I was forced to use the automated backup system that backs up the database daily and reset it to the 12AM (Midnight) on the 24th going into the 25th of January 2007. We worked all day today looking through codes and found a few places without anti−sql protection and fixed that right away, we are sorry for the setback but it was necessary. Anyone who purchased a DP on the 25th will be re−credited with one in item form later this evening. Thanks.

20.01.2007 Just to get this in before speculation starts, Cherry and Grape kool−aid have been permanently fedded for using staff tools to cheat the game, we can’t say more then this, however the decision is final unless any evidence proving otherwise comes up, which is highly unlikely. The only reason I made an announcement is because Grape was one of the highest players in the game. Thanks.

13.01.2007 As per request you can now buy crystals from the donate page. Also users can use their in−game cash to buy crystals from the crystal temple for 10 million per crystal, however you can only buy 100 crystals per day.

12.01.2007 We have released a patch today which should fix up some more bugs that users have noticed and reported. − Fixed the 2.1 bil bug on Crystal and Item markets. − Fixed a staff tool that was also capped. − Fixed the anti−macro not working properly for Internet Explorer users. − We believe we also fixed the negative attacking cash bug...
